Why it matters what your address says

An email from yourname@yourcompany.co.uk is treated differently to the same message from a free webmail address. By the recipient, and by the spam filters.

If you are quoting for work, chasing an invoice, or introducing yourself to somebody who has never heard of you, the address is part of whether you get taken seriously. It is a small thing that is doing more work than people realise.

What you get per mailbox

  • 10 GB of storage, which is a great deal more than most people ever use
  • POP3 and IMAP, so it works in Outlook, Apple Mail, your phone, or webmail
  • Antivirus and antispam filtering before anything reaches you
  • Forwarders, autoresponders and catch all addresses
  • Held separately from your website, so a busy site never slows your email

Aliases like info@ or accounts@ that just forward to a real mailbox do not count as mailboxes and are not charged for.

The part most people get wrong

Email that lands in spam is almost never the mailbox provider. It is the DNS records that tell the world who is allowed to send on behalf of your domain.

SPF, DKIM and DMARC are the three that matter. Set up correctly they are the difference between your quote arriving and your quote silently vanishing. Set up badly, or not at all, and even legitimate email gets treated as suspicious.

I configure all three as part of setting you up. If you already have email somewhere else and things are going missing, that is usually where the problem is, and it is worth an hour of my time to find out.

Moving existing email across

Migrations are automatic and include your existing messages, folders and contacts. You do not start with an empty mailbox and you do not lose the history.

The move happens outside working hours if that suits you better, and old and new run alongside each other until it is clearly working.

Questions people ask

Can I keep using Outlook?

Yes. Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, your phone, or webmail in a browser.

What if I only need one mailbox?

That is fine. One is a perfectly normal number.

Do I need hosting with you as well?

No. Email can sit with me while your website lives somewhere else.

What about Microsoft 365?

If you need the full Office suite, Teams and SharePoint, Microsoft 365 is the right answer and I will set it up for you rather than pretend otherwise. If you need email that works, this is cheaper and simpler.
