Why email being separate matters
On cheap hosting your website and your email usually live on the same server. When the website gets busy, or gets attacked, or somebody uploads a huge file, your email slows down or stops with it.
Here they are on different infrastructure. A problem with one does not touch the other. It is the sort of thing nobody thinks about until the week it matters.
How this differs from the managed tier
Same platform, same speed, same security. The difference is whose job the maintenance is.
On this tier, updating WordPress, your theme and your plugins is yours. On managed hosting at £59.95 a month I do it, test it on a staging copy first, and watch the site so I notice a problem before you do.
If your website is a brochure nobody depends on, this tier is the honest answer. If it brings in enquiries or takes money, an afternoon offline costs more than the difference.
Moving from another host is free, and I do it
The reason people stay on hosting they dislike is not price, it is the fear of a broken week during the move. So I do the move, at no charge, and you approve it before anything switches.
Your site is copied across and tested on the new platform while the old one keeps running. When it looks right the DNS changes, with no downtime you would notice. Email comes across too, mailboxes and history intact.
If something is wrong afterwards I fix it, and the old site stays put until you are happy.
